ABOUT US

Here's Our Story...

"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."

Genesis 50:20

The Justin J. Davis (Just-In-Time) Heart Foundation 501 (3)(c) was founded after he was diagnosed with Left Ventricle Non-Compaction Cardiomyopathy (LVNC), a rare congenital heart defect (CHD). I have been an athlete all my life, playing both football and basketball. My body had been compensating for my CHD and I never been sick until I suddenly began to experience nausea and shortness of breathe after being exposed to the flu virus. Fortunately, I was diagnosed April 19, 2017 after many doctors visits and received a ICD and pacemaker on July 24, 2017.

I have been blessed to help others by sharing my story, raising awareness and encouraging others to listen to their bodies and take an action. The Just-In-Time Heart Foundation's mission is to educate, empower, inspire, provide support and promote positivity to persons and their families affected by Congenital Heart Defects, Heart Failure and Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

HEART FACTS

Heart failure is a chronic, progressive condition in which the heart muscle is unable to pump enough blood to meet the body’s needs for blood and oxygen. Basically, the heart can’t keep up with its workload.

Symptoms of Heart Failure

It may be appropriate to begin testing for heart failure if you or a family member has any of the potential signs of heart failure, such as:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Persistent coughing or wheezing
  • Buildup of excess fluid in body tissues (edema)
  • Unusual fatigue
  • Lack of appetite or nausea
  • Impaired thinking
  • Increased heart rate
